Description

Monthly-Yarn-Club “Grimms’s Fairytales” – November 2018

———————————————

Pre-ordered club yarns will ship during the first week of November 2018.

———————————————

Please purchase this club on it’s own! If you still add other items to your order, it only means that you will get your complete order in one single package when it’s time to send out your club yarn. (Some customers have purchased several club months together in one order – this will help you safe shipping costs!)

—— NEW starting in September: You can now choose from ANY of my regular (and brand new) YARN BASES for your club shipment!!! ——

I loved reading the Grimm’s Fairytales growing up, and still do. I especially love this book that I got for myself last year – the illustrations from a Dutch artist are outstandingly beautiful and inspiring! And because so many loved the Grimm’s Fairytale Sockyarn club last year, I am continuing with the same club throughout 2018.  I am so excited for you to get your special colorway as a surprise in your mailbox!!

(Check out this book online,  for example on Amazon, if you want to get a glimpse on what the illustrations look like, or even better: get the book itself if you can get it in your language!)

This is a surprise yarn club! Which means, that I won’t release pictures of how the actual colorway looks like, until all recipients have recieved their yarn. This also means, that I am highly confident in my dyeing skills and if you like my dyeing techniques, the colorways you see in the shop or on my Instagram, the chances are really high, that you will also like this club colorway. But, as with all new colorways I create, I also like to expand my techniques range, try out new dyeing methods and also different colors of dyes. In all likelihood this will stay an exclusive Club-Colorway and I won’t dye it again as a regular shop colorway. 😉

Additional information and care instructions:

Each and every skein is a truly handmade product – from the handdyed skein to the yarnband and label design. We take great care in taking/editing the pictures of your products so they look as close to reality as possible – but please note that these are “catalogue pictures”, we don’t take pictures of each and every single skein of yarn but try to do our best to represent the colorway and it’s varieties in the photos we use (the representation obviously also depends on your screen/computer).

I dye in increments of 2-4 skeins per pot, so please make sure to attach a note with your order if you want to use your yarn for projects that use more than 1 skein per colorway, so I can make sure that those skeins come from the same dye batch. Depending on your gauge, pooling might still be possible, although I try my best to prevent that from happening with my dyeing techniques. I highly recommend alternating your skeins for mulitple skein-projects!

For best results and long wear I recommend handwashing your knitted items – in cold to max. lukewarm water with wool wash. Lay flat to dry.
I am using professional acid dyes and citric acid to dye my yarns (vinegar for stellina yarn bases), but I make sure to soak and wash them with ecological wool wash (Ecover) after the dyes have set and rinse them until the water runs clear before drying. But because of the nature of some dyes (especially reds/ blacks/ turquoise/ blues), “bleeding” of excess dyes is still a possibility.
